Re:any of u bimmer guys.... - 2008/08/14 08:25 If it stays on while you're driving, either a) Your brake pads are thin and need to be replaced; or b) You don't have any brake pad sensors connected. ATM Racing - Driven by "The Kitten".

What are they then?lol Ive searched for them online for months now with no luck. The owner of a local wheel shop told me they were for sure OEM on something due to the seams. He thinks they might have been OEM m5 wheels. Hamman makes a wheel similar but definetly different. Yeah im scared to death of breaking one too since i cant find one and the closest ive found are between $400 and $500 a wheel

It's hard to say without actually looking at them or seeing a better picture. They're not OEM, that's for sure. OEM M5 wheels, from any generation, have never looked like that and come in 19", or would fit on your car due to some serious offset issues.

I don't know what "seams" he would be referring to, unless they are multi-piece wheels, which it doesn't look like they are. Judging by the tremendous lip, it looks like they're some trendy wheels out of Italy. Italy is known for making wheels that look like that and don't break the bank.

You're right, I doubt you would ever be able to find a replacement, since a lot of foreign wheel manufacturers produce a wheel for 6 months or a year and then never make it again.

Re:any of u bimmer guys.... - 2008/08/14 10:24 Good to know. Oh and on the brake sensor. Could it just be the previous owner changed the pads and didnt reset the lights? Or maybe they are all disconnected because of my mega sized wheels?

Anyone know how to reset the lights on these things...or is it like alot of the volvos and you have to have a diagnostic type tool?

Thanks for the help

It could be because the previous owner didn't replace the old, worn sensors or didn't install any at all.

You should get a proper Peake reset tool if you plan on keeping the car for a while. Otherwise you can reset lights by jumping pins in the diag port under the hood. I don't have any clue which set does it, it's been years since I've owned an e36.

Here, just found this.

Re:any of u bimmer guys.... - 2008/08/16 13:57 Yeah, I agree with everyone else. My e36 has always had that line on because I just bought regular brake pads w/o a sensor.
